When I watched 'Super 8' a Dreamworks studios production, I loved it for about the first three quarters of it, then it fizzled due to lame monster effects (too much déjà-vu) I was hoping 'Real Steel' would not do the same. It didn't; it worked all the way through. From the early confrontation between a raging bull and an almost worn out robot (great special effects) to the closing fight between the undefeated super boxing robot Zeus and the underdog 'Atom. The first robot to ever have been credited with having soul, R2D2, to the cute robot Wall-E, who had oodles of it, here Dreamworks made Atom have a little soul. That's very Hollywood, but the Hollywood we can still like.
As story lines go, the IMDb one pretty much captures the essential plot. It's a family movie, within certain limits; it may depend on the age of your child (children) because there is violence in boxing.
A father redeeming himself with his son who he abandoned ten or more years earlier can make for a fair feel good movie; the bad guys are not that bad nor despicable because it's not that kind of movie. The fun parts are fun enough and the special effects are all well done. The cast did its job well; Hugh Jackman and Dakota Goyo worked their characters to the limit and that's most of the movie. The ratings do it justice... well audience ratings anyway. I enjoyed it and hope you do too.

Real steel 2011 movie online full hd free video. I went to this movie with apprehension and at first wondered if I had come into the wrong show until I saw Hugh Jackman at the wheel of his truck. I was expecting it to be far into the future but soon found it was in a time similar to ours, the not to distant future. It's a world you can relate to with characters not much different to us. Real Steel was a pleasant surprise and had a Disney feel about it, it's really worth seeing. It has a great story line, interesting characters and great robot fighting scenes. They were well-done and the Robots look so real and you would hardly tell that it was all done by computer simulation. This movie is a heart felt father son story between and ex boxer Hugh Jackman and his son Dakota Goyo. I wouldn't be surprised is there is a sequel and I'd definitely go alone and see it.
